I have been coloring my hair as long as I can remember. Highlights, balayage, lowlights, even pink and opal highlighted hair, which was gorgeous by the way! Keeping my hair healthy has been a struggle at times, and I hate when my hair looks and feels unhealthy. I mean who doesn’t!? I finally feel like I am using all of the right products to combat dry, frizzy, brittle looking hair! Here are some of my tips and the products I use!
See a professional
I first want to say that if you are using box color on your hair. Put the box down, I repeat, put the box down. I used to use these in high school and it was never a good outcome. A professional will use higher quality color on your hair and you will get the best results, especially if you’re going lighter.
I have used the Redkin All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner for years. I’ve tried to switch a few times to see if I liked anything else better and I have never found anything that compares. I love that they are really thick and concentrated, so you don’t have to use a lot to get a good shampoo and the conditioner feels almost like a leave in mask.
I put this cream on after towel drying my hair. It makes my hair really soft and helps get tangles out easily. I’ve actually been out for a couple weeks and I can tell a difference!
This stuff is great and a little goes a long way. You don’t want to put too much or your hair will look oily but after I finish styling my hair, I spray on a light mist to the lower half of my hair and it looks shinier and healthier. I also use it again at night before putting my hair in a bun.
I can’t live without a good dry shampoo and Baliste Dry Shampoo is the best! I’ve tried a few scents like Wild, tropical, blush, etc. and they all smell really good. I usually use a little right after styling my hair and then the next few days as needed.
Don't wash your hair everyday
If you're washing your hair everyday, you're stripping away the natural oils that moisturize your hair. It might sound crazy but when I actually style my hair, I won't usually wash it for at least four days. My hair has actually become less oily since making this a part of my routine. This brings me back to dry shampoo, its definitely a must have!
So these are my go to products and tips, I hope they help you have healthier hair!
